Frank Ocean launches Apple Music Radio Show – Billboard
Franck Ocean launches its all-new Homer Radio with Apple Music 1. The hour-long show is scheduled for Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET.
“Someone is vacuuming the carpets adding a distant layer of white noise to the sound,” Ocean said in a cryptic statement on the show. “Security bored pretending to check rooms and safes on rehearsal patrol. A gadget-laden helmet helps a man who wears it see, with its light grids, lenses and magnifying glasses .
The singer-songwriter’s show shares a name with his Homer jewelry line, which the artist founded in August 2021. The name is inspired by the Greek poet, Ocean said in an interview with Financial Times.
As Ocean fans finally get a project from him on the radio show, the singer is known for taking long breaks from both the music and the public. His last album, Blondwas released in 2016, while her most recent songs are “DHL”, “Cayendo” and “Dear April”.
It looks like Ocean is mixing the radio show with their years-old jewelry line. The show’s launch was accompanied by a post on the company’s Instagram page, against a backdrop of a bustling city.
Along with a lack of music, there was a lot of talk about Ocean’s lack of performances. The singer opened up about how his mental health issues impacted his desire to perform on stage. But he has at least two dates on the calendar next year: back-to-back weekends as the 2023 Coachella headliner.
